Following a disastrous 2017 winter during which 600 boxwoods were killed, our new partnership with this high-traffic South Loop retail/residential lifestyle center began with strategizing a creative, long-term solution that addressed the immediate problem, while fitting the client’s budgetary limitations. Our team worked to create the highest impact, budget-friendly landscaping. Through the use of tough shrubs, perennials, annuals, and sod, the site has been transformed from mainly formal boxwood hedges to a combination of shrubs and perennial plantings. We removed all of the stand alone colorful burgundy, navy, light blue, and mint green planters, and replaced them with sleek modern black fiberglass planters.
Ongoing landscape maintenance includes:
- 5 rotations of color spring, summer, fall, bulbs, and winter in the beds and 4 in the pots
- Daily oversight
- Budgetary management
- Maintaining the flow of communication with site management
- Irrigation system maintenance
- Management of the attached residential lofts buildings
